Muckdogs Bang Out 8-4 Win Versus Auburn
|
The 2115 season did not get off to quite the start the Auburn Doubledays had hoped, with an opening day loss to the Batavia Muckdogs at Falcon Park. The final score was 8-4. Starting Pitcher Mark Pittman was the top performer for Batavia.
In the top of the first, Batavia shortstop Larry Burger had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Auburn hurler John Butcher, Burger drew a walk, driving in 1 run. That made the score 2-0, Batavia. For the day, Burger went 1-4 with a walk.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Burger told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
