The State College Spikes beat the Williamsport Crosscutters, 13-6, at Bowman Field. The win was due in part to third baseman Juan Bello, who was 3 for 5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. David Herrera, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held Williamsport to 4 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. State College is now 1-1.

State College used a well-timed hit by Danny Vance to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Spikes ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
