Trenton Dispatched, 3-0, by Portland
|
Portland got a first-rate effort from pitcher Jack Hale, who frustrated Trenton hitters en route to a 3-0 Sea Dogs triumph at Hadlock Field. Hale got the win, improving to 5-3. He gave up 4 hits and walked 4 over 7.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Tyler Ropson recorded the save for Portland, his 8th of the season.
The Sea Dogs got a big at-bat from designated hitter Nate Findlay. For the game, Findlay went 1-3 with a double and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 10th double of the season gave Portland a 1-0 lead.
"I had everything working," said Hale.
The 4th-place Sea Dogs improved to 25-31.
