Richmond starter Bill Laird pitched well against the Binghamton Mets at NYSEG Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-5, in 10 innings. Juan Talamantes, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-1. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 0.2 innings. Hector Reyes notched his 1st save of the season.

Richmond used a timely hit from Trent Clow to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Flying Squirrels ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We came out aggressive," said Flying Squirrels manager Fernando Melendez. "We came out swinging the bats."
