Fisher Cats Topple Thunder with Late Rally
|
New Hampshire and Trenton put this game in the books despite some rain.
In a tight game between the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Trenton Thunder, pitcher Logan Parker was terrific on the mound. The New Hampshire right-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. Jose Fernandez, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings.
New Hampshire took a 2-1 lead on Joe Ray's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Ray hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Trenton pitcher Kirk Wharton visibly frustrated.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Trenton manager Pat Gilman.
The third-place Fisher Cats improved to 28-28.
