Baysox Win, 6-4
|
The Bowie Baysox dealt the Richmond Flying Squirrels a 6-4 loss at The Diamond. Trevor Westbrook, who is tied for 7th in the EL in triples with 3, was the star on offense. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the win was Rafael de Jesus. He went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 4. Bowie goes to 41-16. The win puts them 5 games up in their division.
Westbrook had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Mario Correa, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Baysox a 6-4 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Westbrook.
"Pedal to the metal" is how Bowie manager Seth Dugas described his team's approach.
