Sea Dogs Dealt 5-1 Loss
|
New Hampshire Fisher Cats starter John Mitchell hurled his team past the Portland Sea Dogs, 5-1. Oscar Mota earned the save, his 2nd, for the Fisher Cats. New Hampshire's record now stands at 37-22, placing them first in the Northern Division.
Esteban Romero had a big 2-run double for the Fisher Cats in the bottom of the third inning. With New Hampshire leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a curveball from Justin Batey, who is tied for 3rd in the EL in quality starts with 8, and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fisher Cats ahead, 3-0.
"We'll try to build on that win," Mitchell told the New Hampshire Daily.
