The Richmond Flying Squirrels faced a tough opponent in Akron pitcher Mario Trujillo, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Diamond by a final score of 4-3. Trujillo went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win belongs to Micah Minto in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Karl Seaton took the loss for Akron. The win puts the Flying Squirrels at 35-26, while the RubberDucks drop to 36-24.

Bill Curtis was the walk-off hero for Richmond. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Flying Squirrels left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"This wasn't a good win," said Curtis. "It was a great win."
