Fightin Phils Lose to Portland, 7-2
Portland pitcher Tyler Trantham did his part in helping his team beat the Reading Fightin Phils, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winner was Trantham. He threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Bobby Thompson. The Sea Dogs saw their win-loss record go to 28-34. At the same time, the Fightin Phils fell to 21-40.

Portland used a well-timed hit by Riley Sanders to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Sea Dogs ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Trantham.
