Flying Squirrels Get Clutch 6-5 Win
The Richmond Flying Squirrels did just enough to sneak past the Akron RubberDucks, 6-5, at The Diamond. Richmond pitcher Bryan Townsend, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner in relief was Juan Talamantes. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Richmond is now 24-37.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Richmond. That's when Rich Nuila hit a run-scoring double off former first overall pick Maurice Johnson to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"This house was rockin'," Nuila said.
