The Richmond Flying Squirrels beat the Harrisburg Senators, 2-1. Richmond pitcher and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native Bill Hetrick led the way. The winning pitcher was Hetrick, now 5-2. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 7. The save was credited to Li Crossingham, his 6th.
The Flying Squirrels got a big hit from second baseman Brad Reichle. Facing Harrisburg pitcher Marco Herrera in the bottom of the fifth, Reichle pounded a 2-run double to right. His 7th double of the season put the Flying Squirrels ahead, 2-1.
Reichle said afterward that he was glad to contribute to the win.
Richmond currently is in second place in the Northern Division at 34-28.
