Fightin Phils Get Clutch Win, 4-3
|
The Reading Fightin Phils grabbed a win, 4-3, over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at FirstEnergy Stadium. Reading designated hitter Alex Espinoza went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. Espinoza had a timely hit for Reading in the bottom of the eighth. With Reading trailing 3-2, he turned a 0-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 4-3, Reading.
Espinoza said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
