Curve Score 2-0 Win Over Akron

The Akron RubberDucks got a superb performance from pitcher Mike Overholser. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Altoona. The Curve won the game, 2-0. Overholser threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Picking up the save was Antonio Cruz, his 6th. The Curve sit in second place in the Southern Division with a record of 40-24.
Altoona used a well-timed hit by Mark Wight to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Curve ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Juan Nunez.
