Curve Suffer 10-4 Setback
|
Richmond left fielder Bill Curtis made his presence felt in the 10-4 Flying Squirrels triumph over the Altoona Curve. Curtis went 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Charlie Fleet notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 5-3. Richmond now sits at 39-27, while Altoona falls to 23-42.
Richmond used the timely hitting of Eric Binder to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Flying Squirrels on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Curtis said (again).
