Fightin Phils Scratch Out 2-1 Win
The Reading Fightin Phils got a magnificent performance from pitcher Carlos Romano, who muffled the Portland offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Fightin Phils win at FirstEnergy Stadium. The win boosted Reading to 36-31.

Sean Watson had a big run-scoring triple for the Fightin Phils in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Reading leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Jose Hoyos and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fightin Phils ahead, 2-0.

"This was a tough loss," said Portland manager Jason Hawkins. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
