Fightin Phils Tag Mets with 3-1 Loss
|
The Reading Fightin Phils took on the Binghamton Mets at NYSEG Stadium.
Starting pitcher Miguel Rivera was a major factor in the 3-1 Reading Fightin Phils triumph over the Binghamton Mets. The winning pitcher was Rivera, now 3-2. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 9. Oktyabr Iashvili earned the save for Reading, his 1st.
Reading used the hitting of Rogelio Montejano to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Fightin Phils on top, 2-0. For the game, Montejano had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"I made good pitches, kept the ball out of the middle of the plate for the most part," said Rivera.
Reading is now 25-42, while Binghamton is 30-38.
