The Akron RubberDucks captured an easy win, 12-0, over the Portland Sea Dogs at Canal Park. Danny Mendez led the offensive barrage, going 3-for-5 for Akron. Nate Brager earned the win. Mike Sherwood, who is tied for 8th in the EL in strikeouts with 76, took the loss for Portland. The RubberDucks have a winning streak of 5 games.

With Akron leading 2-0 in the bottom of the first, Mendez hit a 2-run single off Portland hurler Mike Sherwood. It was the 5th hit of the season for Mendez and put his team ahead, 4-0.
