The Hartford Yard Goats downed the Altoona Curve, 6-5, at People's Natural Gas Field. Ramon Vazquez led the way, going 2-for-4 for Hartford. Matt Grimes recorded the save for Hartford, his 8th of the season. With the win, Hartford raised its record to 45-24.
In the top of the first, with the game still scoreless, Vazquez hit a 2-run single to put his team in the lead.
"I hate to be the fly in the ointment," said Vazquez, "but we could've played better."
