Erie Hopeless Against King
|
The Erie SeaWolves were almost helpless in their 4-0 loss to the Richmond Flying Squirrels and hurler Tim King. King kept the SeaWolves confused all game, spinning a 2-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to King," Erie manager Frank Hennessy said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 23-year-old left-hander had 2 walks and 10 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," King said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
This season, King has compiled a 2-5 mark, 3.84 ERA and made 14 starts.
