Curve Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
The Altoona Curve had to weather a strong performance from Richmond pitcher Ben Bower before claiming a 2-0 win in 10 innings. Bower went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs. Altoona reliever Willis Pulido picked up the win, upping his record to 7-3. Tony Flores was saddled with the loss. The third-place Curve now sit at 41-29.
Jeff Campanile, who is tied for 4th in the EL in runs scored with 44, had a direct impact on the outcome. Campanile contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put Altoona up, 1-0.
"There's no quit in this team," said Curve manager Rene Almanza.
