Fisher Cats Knock Off Thunder at Arm & Hammer Park
|
The Trenton Thunder got a superb performance from pitcher Mike Linden. Still, it wasn't enough to beat New Hampshire. The Fisher Cats won the game, 5-2. Linden came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters. Kevin Grubb came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The save was credited to Chris Nieves, his 18th.
Josh Rose, the 27-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rose contributed a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put New Hampshire up, 3-2.
"Winning is the only objective," said Rose after the game.
New Hampshire now sits in first place in the Northern Division at 43-28.
