Benefiting from Josh Hood's productive game, the Bowie Baysox downed the Akron RubberDucks, 10-3. Hood slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Baysox. Bowie pitcher Brian Hawkins got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Miguel Gauna got the loss. Akron has now lost 4 consecutive games.

Shortstop Edwin Morell made an impact for Bowie, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Miguel Gauna in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Morell went 1-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
