|
Altoona and New Hampshire got after it at People's Natural Gas Field.
New Hampshire got a decent performance from pitcher Alex Romero, but it wasn't enough to beat the Altoona Curve. Altoona won the People's Natural Gas Field contest, 6-1. Romero threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. The winner in relief was Ryan Colon. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0.
The Curve got a big at-bat from catcher Tommy Marcinczyk Jr.. For the game, Marcinczyk Jr. was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Altoona a 2-1 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Marcinczyk Jr. said after the game.
