Hartford starter David Soto put a stranglehold on the New Hampshire offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Yard Goats to a 2-1 win. Soto yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-6. Earning his 12th save of the year was Ross Smolnik.

Making an impact for the home team was Juan Hernandez. In the bottom of the first, the 25-year old second baseman had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 2-0, Yard Goats.

"Tough loss," said New Hampshire manager Cesar Banuelos. "But we'll learn from it."

The first-place Fisher Cats dropped to 44-29.
