Tillis Slams 5 Hits for Pawtucket
After a 5-hit effort to lead Pawtucket's 15-8 victory over the Scranton WB RailRiders, second baseman Chad Tillis told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the International League-level is really something special."

The 24-year-old player earned his accolades at PNC Field with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the RailRiders.

"His swing is getting there," said Red Sox skipper David Larson, who spoke glowingly of Tillis after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Chad did that to perfection."

Chad Tillis singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 4th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run double in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.

For the season, Tillis is batting .312 with 29 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 17 times and batted in 14.
