Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Flying Squirrels
The 3-RBI night of left fielder Cody Hindmon, who is tied for 9th in the EL in hits with 73, helped the Richmond Flying Squirrels triumph, 8-7, over the Portland Sea Dogs. Mike Billingsley picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Alexis Cordova suffered the loss. The 4th-place Flying Squirrels are now 34-42, the Sea Dogs 34-43.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Richmond trailing 7-6, Hindmon jumped on a fastball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Alexis Cordova and hit a 2-run home run to left. With one swing, the Flying Squirrels had a walk-off win.

"This place sure got loud," said Fernando Melendez, the Richmond manager.
