The Binghamton Mets defeated the Portland Sea Dogs, 5-4. Doing his part was third baseman Bobby McAlexander, who was 4 for 4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Reliever Danny Bustos picked up the win. His record improves to 4-1. Justin Ammons took the loss. Binghamton is in second place in the Northern Division with a record of 50-26.
The Mets relied on third baseman Steve Thompson for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Brian Lees.
