Flying Squirrels Dealt 7-0 Loss
|
Lance Broski pitched a gem to lead Hartford to victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 7-0. Broski yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 9-3. The Yard Goats, at 52-26, have a comfortable 14½-game lead in their division.
Travis Parrish cracked a home run off Dave Bigby in the bottom of the third. His 3-run blast put the Yard Goats on top, 3-0. In all, Parrish had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"It was a good win," said Hartford manager Jerry Jones. "Not without blemish, but good."
