Fisher Cats Knock Off Mets, 6-4
|
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats defeated the Binghamton Mets, 6-4, in Eastern League action at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. New Hampshire pitcher Jonathan Obrochta had a standout performance. New Hampshire reliever Chris Nieves was the winner. His record is now 4-5. Dustin Wilson took the loss. The save went to Rich Rowley, his 4th this season.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Jasper Raucci came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Binghamton pitcher Dustin Wilson, he hit a 1-0 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New Hampshire on top, 4-3.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Raucci told the New Hampshire News.
New Hampshire is 49-30 and Binghamton, with the loss, 39-39.
