Mets Pull Out Late-Game Win, 1-0
|
In a low-scoring affair between Binghamton Mets and the Hartford Yard Goats, pitcher Tim Cartmell was the difference-maker. The Binghamton right-hander handcuffed the opposition, to help his team pocket a 1-0 win. Jason Bingham, now 2-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Binghamton bumps their record to 37-43 with the win.
Binghamton got a knockout punch from Dave Soto. The designated hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Cartmell said.
