Thunder, Sanchez Buzz Flying Squirrels, 2-0
|
Juan Sanchez of the Trenton Thunder was masterful, pitching a 5-hit shutout, 2-0, against the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Trenton manager Melvin Slosar.
"It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too."
Sanchez had 7 strikeouts and 2 walks in the outing.
So far in 11 appearances this season, Sanchez has recorded 2 wins and sustained 2 losses. He has pitched 36 innings, yielded 41 hits, fanned 27 and has a 4.50 ERA.
