Down to Defeat Go Baysox, 3-0
|
At Prince George's Stadium, the Bowie Baysox and Akron RubberDucks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Akron registered a win at Prince George's Stadium by beating the Bowie Baysox, 3-0. Pitcher Tyler Crumley was one reason why the RubberDucks triumphed. The RubberDucks are now 40-40, while the Baysox fall to 42-38.
Had Bill Lester not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Lester hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the RubberDucks.
Akron manager Juan Nunez commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
