The Trenton Thunder beat the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 5-3. Trenton pitcher and Laramie, Wyoming, native Eric Maloney led the way. Allan Stacey finished to wrap up his 4th save. The Thunder now have a record of 34-46.

Devin Scruggs dealt the Flying Squirrels a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Trenton leading 4-3, Scruggs hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.

Trenton manager Ben Rose commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
