Fightin Phils Pull Out Late Win, 5-4
FirstEnergy Stadium was the site of quite a ballgame.

The Portland Sea Dogs could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Mike Sherwood into a win. Instead, the Reading Fightin Phils prevailed, 5-4. Sherwood threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win makes Reading 40-41.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 24-year old right fielder Steve Kraus had a chance to be the hero. Portland pitcher Alex Hall had other ideas. But with one out, Kraus hit a sacrifice fly. The Fightin Phils had themselves a dramatic win.

"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Kraus.
