No Mercy for Sea Dogs in 14-2 Pounding
New Britain Stadium was the site for Eastern League action featuring the Portland Sea Dogs and Hartford Yard Goats.

The Hartford Yard Goats easily defeated the Portland Sea Dogs, 14-2, at New Britain Stadium, with center fielder Gerardo de Leon a main contributor to the win. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for Hartford. Xavier Clayton, credited with the win, is now 8-6. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 9 innings.

Dan McRae, the Hartford second baseman, contributed a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 10-0, Yard Goats. For the game, McRae was 2-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.

"The score speaks for itself," said losing manager Ben White. "It was embarrassing."

The Yard Goats saw their win-loss record go to 51-32. At the same time, the Sea Dogs fell to 38-44.
