The Altoona Curve defeated the Portland Sea Dogs, 4-3, in Eastern League action at People's Natural Gas Field. Altoona pitcher Kevin Snyder had a standout performance. Snyder picked up the win for Altoona, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-8. Alfredo Soler notched his 1st save of the season.
The Curve got a big hit from left fielder Carter Roe. Facing Portland pitcher Justin Ooms in the bottom of the sixth, Roe pounded a 2-run double to center. His 19th double of the season put the Curve ahead, 4-2.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Snyder. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
The 5th-place Curve sport a record of 36-51.
