Fightin Phils Suffer 4-1 Loss to Flying Squirrels
The Richmond Flying Squirrels topped the Reading Fightin Phils, 4-1, with designated hitter Josh Layne playing a big role. Layne was 1-3 with a triple and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Flying Squirrels in the win. Micah Minto earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 4-4. With the win, the Flying Squirrels have a record of 58-30.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Layne, who is tied for 9th in the EL with a .359 on-base percentage, hit a 2-run triple. It propelled the Flying Squirrels into the lead, 2-0.
