The Syracuse Chiefs beat the Pawtucket Red Sox, 5-1, at McCoy Stadium. The Chiefs got a fine performance from center fielder Nick Stielow, who was 1-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win went to Ivan Linares in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Aaron Adams took the loss. The Chiefs raised their record to 13-14.

The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Stielow hit a 2-run double off Aaron Adams. It propelled the Chiefs into the lead, 2-0.

"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Stielow told the Syracuse Observer.
