Flying Squirrels Trip Yard Goats, 6-5, in Extra Innings
The Richmond Flying Squirrels trumped the Hartford Yard Goats, 6-5, at New Britain Stadium. Richmond first baseman Eric Binder was terrific. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Richmond is now 56-34, Hartford 55-35.

The outcome might have been different for Richmond, had it not been for Nawaf Shafeeq, the 26-year old second baseman . Shafeeq stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Richmond up, 6-5. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 2 doubles and 1 single.

Shafeeq told a Richmond News reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.
