Senators Dealt 5-0 Loss by Bowie
|
The home crowd came to cheer on their first-place Bowie Baysox.
Bowie starter Dave Christie put the Harrisburg offense in a vise grip. The left-hander relied heavily on his splitter in leading the Baysox to a 5-0 win. Christie picked up the win for Bowie, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-0.
Bowie designated hitter Luis Alcocer contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 7th hit of the season and put the Baysox ahead, 3-0.
"Just trying to help my team," said Alcocer. "That's all I want."
Bowie is sitting pretty at 62-28.
