Behind the hitting of Aaron Sadler, the Richmond Flying Squirrels defeated the Hartford Yard Goats, 5-2. Sadler went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Flying Squirrels. The victory gives Richmond a record of 48-43.

It could have been a different outcome for Richmond, had it not been for Jon Martinez, the 25-year old left fielder . Martinez contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Richmond up, 3-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Sadler told the Richmond Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
