The Binghamton Mets could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Bernardino Malca into a win. Instead, the Trenton Thunder prevailed, 3-2. Malca threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win has Trenton at 33-57.

Trenton used the timely hitting of Dan Leonard to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Thunder on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"That's baseball," said Binghamton manager Matt Young. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
