The Altoona Curve had to overcome a good performance from Reading pitcher David Hayes to claim a 3-1 win at People's Natural Gas Field. Hayes went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. At 32-59, the Curve find themselves in last place in the Southern Division.

The Curve got a big at-bat from third baseman Diego Morales. For the game, Morales went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 12th double of the season gave Altoona a 2-1 lead.

"Tough loss," said Reading manager Eligio Pitti. "But we'll learn from it."
