RubberDucks Bump Off Fisher Cats, 5-0
|
Akron RubberDucks pitcher Morgan Dunphy was all business, helping his team muzzle the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 5-0. Akron goes to 35-56, New Hampshire to 46-46.
Jon Schulte had a big 2-run home run for the RubberDucks in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Akron leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Westerman and swatted a home run to left. It was his 5th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the RubberDucks ahead, 4-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said New Hampshire manager Quinn Autrey.
