Erie had no answer for Akron RubberDucks hurler Ivan Velez, who overwhelmed SeaWolves hitters as the RubberDucks coasted to victory, 9-1. Velez yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 6, and struck out 9. His record improves to 3-1. The RubberDucks win now puts them at 50-43.

With no one out in the bottom of the third, Eric Walsh put Akron in front, 3-1, with a 2-run single. The RubberDucks went on to win the ballgame.
