Mets Lick Curve, 2-1
|
The Binghamton Mets claimed a close win over the Altoona Curve, due in large part to Fernando Tarango. The Binghamton right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. Binghamton is now 49-45, while Altoona is 56-37.
Eddie Herrera drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Binghamton. The 23-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Chad McNulty. It was his 16th RBI of the season.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Altoona skipper Gerardo Zarco, "and it cost us."
