Behind an impressive start by Jorge Ochoa, Richmond beat Reading, 4-2. Fidel Gonzales closed the game out for Richmond, earning his 2nd save. The Flying Squirrels improved to a lofty 70-25.

The Flying Squirrels got a big at-bat from center fielder Ricky Cruz. For the game, Cruz went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Richmond a 3-2 lead.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Richmond manager Fernando Melendez.
