The Akron RubberDucks knocked off the Erie SeaWolves, 4-3, in Eastern League action at Canal Park. Akron pitcher and Maracaibo, Venezuela, native Alexis Espinoza had an outstanding performance. Akron has now won 5 games in a row.

Akron center fielder Phil Sproston helped the RubberDucks go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Sproston hit a run-scoring single off Erie pitcher Dan Hayes.

Sproston told the Akron News: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
