In a tight contest at NYSEG Stadium, the Binghamton Mets edged the Altoona Curve by the score of 5-4. Binghamton second baseman John Stinson, who blasted 2 home runs, was a key contributor. Binghamton reliever Randy Owen snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jason Sims shouldered the loss. The second-place Mets sport a record of 50-46.

Stinson had a timely hit for Binghamton in the bottom of the eighth. With Binghamton trailing 4-3, he turned a 2-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Binghamton.

"John raked," said Binghamton manager Mike Keeney.
