Thunder Take Tight Tilt
|
The Trenton Thunder got a magnificent effort from pitcher Antonio Avila, who kept Richmond hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Thunder win at Arm & Hammer Park. The Thunder now own a record of 43-54.
Had Devin Scruggs not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Scruggs hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-0, in favor of the Thunder.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Richmond manager Omar Zegarra.
