The New Hampshire Fisher Cats coasted to a win over the Akron RubberDucks, 10-0. Nick Slate had a good day at the plate for New Hampshire. He was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Franklin Castro, the winner, improved to 6-5. He held the RubberDucks to no runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Florent Loggia closed the door for New Hampshire, picking up his 3rd save of the year.

With New Hampshire leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Slate hit a run-scoring single off Akron hurler David Benitez. It was the 62nd hit of the season for Slate and put his team ahead, 2-0.

"We can't expect to win," said Akron manager Ted Allen, "when we play like that."

With the win, the Fisher Cats have a record of 53-45.
