Curve Handed 3-1 Loss by New Hampshire
|
John Speer was locked and loaded, helping the New Hampshire Fisher Cats beat the Altoona Curve, 3-1. Speer got the win, improving to 8-10. He gave up 8 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. The third-place Fisher Cats go to 49-49.
New Hampshire used the stroke of Jorge Iglesias to get the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Fisher Cats ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I was determined to go the distance," said Speer.
